Caci know Botox®. As a group Caci are one of the largest providers in the Southern Hemisphere; in just the last 36-months we’ve treated more than 7,305 women with Botox®. We’re experienced in answering your questions too. Here are some of our most common queries.

How does Botox® work?
Some lines and wrinkles form in areas where muscles are particularly active – movement between the eyebrows leads to a frown, smiling leads to lines around eyes and across the forehead. Botox® temporarily reduces the action of treated muscles. This relaxation of the muscles can result in softer lines or wrinkles in the overlying skin.

How much does it cost?
It depends on what you want to achieve and the areas of the face you wish to treat. A Cosmetic Nurse Specialist will consult with you and advise on the costs and doses you require. As a guide, an initial treatment for frown lines will be around $380. Our new Amerase™ plan lets you spread the cost of treatments throughout the year.

At what age should I first start using Botox®?
There is no ideal age to start using Botox® but treatments are more effective on less developed lines. By preventing movement in an area before wrinkles deepen, fewer lines will develop later, meaning lower, more irregular doses of Botox® will be needed in the future.

What does it feel like?
When the Botox® is injected you will usually feel a sting that will last just a couple of seconds.

How long will results last?
Generally between 3 – 4 months but this varies between people. Most people report that they find with regular treatments the results last longer.

Will people know if I have been treated with Botox®?
Although the results are visible, a treatment with Botox® will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you’ve ‘had work done.’ The muscle activity that causes frown lines between the brows is temporarily reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases between your brows. The effects of Botox® take a few days to develop.

What is the difference between Botox® and dermal filler?
Botox® relaxes specific facial muscles causing the skin above to relax and smooth out. Dermal fillers such as Juvederm®, which is used at Caci, are injectable gels that are used to treat wrinkles and folds resulting from a loss of volume beneath the surface of the skin such as perioral lines and nasolabial folds (lines around your mouth and nose) and to plump and define lips.

If I want to get Botox® for a special event, when should I get treated?
It takes around 2 – 7 days for the effects of Botox® to develop with lines continuing to improve for up to 30 days, so it is best to get Botox® at least a fortnight before a special event.

Can I see Botox® before and after images?
Yes, each Caci clinic has before and after images for you to review.
