CACI TREATMENTS

Microneedling

Microneedling (Derma needling or Collagen Induction Therapy) is the perfect treatment for skin rejuvenation, reducing fine lines, pore size, improving skin texture and boosting collagen, all with minimal downtime.

Microneedles penetrate the skin, triggering the body’s natural healing response resulting in a boost in collagen production. The result is stronger, clearer, firmer skin with a healthy glow.

Microneedling with the Exceed medical device at Caci is FDA approved and clinically proven to visibly reduce wrinkles and treat acne scarring.

How does Microneedling work?

Microneedling (Collagen Induction Therapy) is an advanced skin treatment that works by penetrating the skin with microneedles that trigger that body’s natural healing response.

The activation of this response promotes the skin’s ability to heal, repair, and stimulate new collagen production – collagen being the building blocks of healthy, youthful skin.

The regeneration of new, healthy skin cells can disperse clusters of pigmentation, help to lighten discoloration, reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles and scarring (including acne scarring) plus give a more even tone to the skin.

Treatment benefits

Increase Collagen production

Microneedling is great for stimulating collagen production as it triggers the skin’s natural healing response resulting in new and improved collagen tissue. Collagen is the protein that gives our skin its strength and structure.

Improve skin texture

Microneedling can help improve skin texture through increased collagen production as it makes the skin tighter and firmer, which helps shrink the size of your pores and creates a more even skin texture. Your skin will look and feel smoother after each treatment.

Visibly reduce fine lines and wrinkles

Fine lines and wrinkles start to form as our collagen stores deplete with age, so microneedling can also be used as a preventative measure to boost collagen and slow wrinkles from forming. Increasing collagen production results in smoother, plumper skin that is more toned by plumping the skin tissue underneath the surface.

Reduce the appearance of scarring

Microneedling can help reduce the appearance of acne scarring by stimulating new collagen and to help resurface the acne scarring by plumping the skin underneath.

Microneedling for Acne and Rosacea

Microneedling (Collagen Induction Therapy) is a great treatment for acne-prone skin and acne scarring. By stimulating new collagen, microneedling can help to resurface the acne scarring by plumping the skin underneath. It’s also great for reducing hyperpigmentation and skin discolouration caused by acne, leaving a more even complexion. For more info on how microneedling can help acne scars, check out our skin 101 guide. Microneedling can help with rosacea-related discolouration and improvement of your skin texture. By stimulating collagen production, it can reduce the appearance of vessels beneath the skin and overall redness.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is microneedling?

Microneedling (also known as dermal needling or Collagen Induction Therapy) is an advanced skin treatment that works by penetrating the skin with microneedles that triggers the body’s natural healing response which results in a boost in collagen production.

How does microneedling work?

The Exceed microneedling (Collagen Induction Therapy) device has been medically proven to visibly reduce the appearance of wrinkles, skin laxity and uneven skin texture. Safe and effective treatment sessions obtain powerful results within a short procedure time.

The Exceed Microneedling device is FDA approved and therefore clinically proven to treat fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars. It is also Medsafe listed here in New Zealand. Extensive clinical studies are carried out to earn these approvals.

Medical microneedling is a procedure designed to enhance & improve skin complexion via activation of the skin’s natural regenerative processes which stimulates collagen synthesis. With expert precision, technique and timing, medical microneedling triggers growth factors for building new collagen. Very tiny needles are used to penetrate the top layer of the skin vertically causing localised and controlled damage without substantially affecting the structure of the epidermis. The creation of controlled microchannels in the skin instigates the regeneration of skin cells via a natural process of healing. Awakening the fibroblast that lies within the deeper layers of the skin, healthy collagen is naturally produced.

It is a quick & easy technique with little downtime. After a course of treatments, skin structure is visibly revitalised, rejuvenated, replenished and regenerated.

What does microneedling do?

Microneedling (Collagen Induction Therapy) helps promote the healing, repairing and stimulation of new collagen within the skin - collagen basically being the building blocks of your skin. The regeneration of new, healthy skin cells can disperse clusters of pigmentation, lighten discolouration and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and scarring.

What does microneedling feel like?

Microneedling (Collagen Induction Therapy) might sound intimidating if you’ve never tried it before. Customers describe that a microneedling treatment feels like a thorough exfoliation - similar to an intense microdermabrasion. You may notice a scratching sensation that feels more sensitive in some areas such as the eye area, nose and forehead, but it’s typically fairly pain free, if not a little bit uncomfortable.

When will I see results from microneedling?

Most Caci customers notice an improvement in their skin after their first few treatments and the results continue to improve over a course of treatments. At Caci we recommend having 4-5 treatments every 4-5 weeks to ensure long-lasting and real results.

On our Reformaskin membership, we also prep and support the skin with our skin conditioning treatments and at-home skincare to get the best results from your advanced treatments.

Is microneedling suitable for me?

Microneedling is suitable for all skin types, especially if your skin concerns are ageing, congestion, sun damage and pigmentation, acne scarring and uneven skin texture. Boosting the production of collagen benefits everyone’s skin health.

Microneedling is not suitable for those with active acne and/or breakouts, and pregnant women.

What happens after my microneedling treatment?

The recovery period is relatively short. It’s normal to see some redness and swelling after the treatment, but this will go away on its own within a few hours.

How much does microneedling cost?

A casual microneedling treatment is $562. Customers on a Reformaskin membership save on every treatment, our advanced options start from $56 per week on our payment plan.

Does microneedling work for blemishes, blackheads and acne?

Microneedling is not recommended for active acne or blemishes but it is great for working on acne-prone skin and acne scarring as the new production of collagen helps with healing and repairing of your skin. For those struggling with acne, we recommend looking into our Blemish Bootcamp.

Microneedling can help improve the appearance of enlarged pores by stimulating collagen production.

What is the difference between microneedling and derma rolling?

Microneedling is an advanced skin treatment done in a clinic by a trained professional that uses a device (at Caci we use the Exceed Microneedling device) that creates micro-punctures in the skin with small, sterilised needles. Microneedling is effective for those with deeper acne scars and pigmentation and at Caci we combine our microneedling treatments with electroporation to allow our serums to absorb deeper into the skin.

Derma rolling is an at-home version of a microneedling treatment done with a derma roller. This is a handheld device featuring a roller covered in very, fine needles. Derma rolling is a great way to support your in-clinic treatments and the effects of your skincare products.Check out our guide onsafely and effectively using a derma roller at home.
