Hello, it’s me,
after my first Laser Facial.

I tend to shy away from positive self-proclamations. Be it false humility, or just a general aversion to sounding vain or conceited. But one thing I will absolutely say about myself with conviction is that as far as skin goes, mine is pretty good. Well… great, actually.
But this is not due to me being blessed by any divine intervention. No, no, it is an intervention of any entirely different kind that has caused this. Caci intervention. I first started my Caci skin journey in 2016 when I signed up to their Reformaskin skin health membership, then, I worked with them extensively during my time in media, and still to this day, I am religious about my 3-week standing facial appointment. This is basically my very long-winded way of saying, when it comes to skin health and specifically what Caci is offering, I know my retinol from my retinal.
The reason this approach to your skin works is a very simple truth, not only in skincare, but in life. If you encounter a problem, you fix it as quickly as possible. This is particularly true when it comes to looking after your skin, and is why, whenever I start to experience anything untoward, whether it be an unwanted breakout or dry patches, I know I have a facial just around the corner where the expert team will be able to get my skin on the right track again.
And, the best thing about Caci is that they do not rest on their laurels when it comes to keeping up with the latest and greatest in the world of skincare. While you will always have the tried and true staples on the agenda, like LED Light Therapy or Sonophoresis Infusion (which are staples for a reason), they are constantly evolving and introducing new facials to join the ranks, too.
The Caci Signature Laser Facial
Which brings me to the actual purpose of this blog, my review of one of the latest and absolute greatest of Caci’s skin treatment offerings - the Caci Signature Laser Facial. I actually had my first Signature Laser Facial experience when they launched it a few years ago, which you can read about here. And to say I was blown away by the results would be the understatement of the century.
So, when I was given the opportunity to try their new and improved Signature Laser Facial, I jumped at the chance. The science and the premise remain the same, but with some thoughtful tweaks. The peel has changed for starters, to their Signature Peel, which is the best glow-inducing peel on the market. I actually also wrote on that here! The other change is that they now recommend you complete a course of treatments (four in total) with infusions in between to avoid any adverse reactions. While a standalone treatment will still absolutely get you special-event ready, by completing more than one, you are ensuring that the results will not only blow you out of the water but will also stand the test of time, making you glow for longer. Here is the lowdown on everything Laser Facial related.
How does the Caci Signature Laser Facial work?
Let’s start with the basics: how exactly does this sorcery work? Well, it’s not your average facial, let's put it that way. It’s what you call a treatment with intention. If your skin has been feeling a bit meh lately, whether it be dull, congested, or just giving that mid-winter tired appearance, this facial basically hits the reset button. But it does so in a very Caci way - precise, effective and always backed by science.
The Caci Signature Laser Facial combines two of skin care's most powerful techniques, a chemical peel and a thermal laser, into one 30-minute appointment. First up, you will be treated to the Caci Signature Peel, which is like a supercharged exfoliator that doesn’t just sit on the surface, but it really gets in there, if you know what we mean. It will work to break down the dull, dead skin cells holding you back. You may feel a slight tingle, maybe even a mild spice, but nothing uncomfortable. It’s actually that type of pain that is… enjoyable? And, even if you don’t agree with this sentiment, what’s happening beneath the peel is most certainly worth a small amount of discomfort in any event, it’s loosening the glue between your outermost skin cells to reveal brighter, smoother layers underneath.
Then comes the big guns, the Fractional CO2 Laser, but used at a lower setting than the full resurfacing treatment. This delivers a controlled amount of heat into the skin to kick your body’s healing response into gear. Translation: your collagen production is about to go into overdrive, which will reveal a smoother texture, firmer skin, and a complexion that quite literally looks healthier from the inside out. It definitely looks like you are getting your five plus a day, put it that way.
And all of this happens with zero downtime, might I add. I walked out of the clinic and went straight to work, albeit a bit red, but the kind that made me look like I had just done a hot girl workout at lunch, not anything alarming.
What does it feel like?
If you have ever had microneedling or even a stronger peel, you will be able to handle this with no problem. And even if you haven’t actually, it’s nothing drastic or painful. It’s more of a warm prickling sensation as it moves quickly over your face in sections. It’s over before you have time to second-guess it, and the finish is satisfying, cool and calm, thanks to a generous application of soothing serums, and of course, SPF.
Post-treatment, I was definitely a bit pink, but by the evening, the flush had completely faded, and I was left with baby smooth skin that made it all worth it a million times over.
What results can you expect?
This is where it gets good. Because while the immediate post-treatment glow is real (and will get you compliments), the real magic happens in the days that follow. I already knew this from my first treatment, and I was ready to be surprised in the best possible way all over again.
Your skin continues to improve over the next week or so as the effects of the peel and laser kick in. *Deep breath*... Cell turnover increases, collagen builds, and the texture of your skin becomes visibly smoother and firmer. If you have congestion or stubborn little bumps, they’ll start to clear. Pigmentation begins to lift. Fine lines look less fine. In my case, I also noticed an unexpected bonus… a noticeable reduction in redness around my nose and cheeks. I didn’t even realise how much of it I had until it was gone.
As I touched on, for the very best results, Caci recommend doing a course of four treatments (which I am about to embark on, so stay tuned for updates), with a Sonophoresis Skin Infusion scheduled between laser appointments to keep your skin happy and healthy while it also totally transforms. But honestly, even one appointment will get you red carpet ready, making it the ideal treatment to have done before an event, holiday, or for no reason at all besides wanting an envy-inducing glow.
What is the difference between the Signature Laser Facial and Fractional CO2?
Think of the Laser Facial as your regular maintenance facial with a high-performance edge. It’s gentle enough to be part of your routine (hello, membership discounts), but powerful enough to create change beneath the surface. Meanwhile, the Fractional CO2 Laser Treatment is a more intense version used for deeper resurfacing, often for more advanced ageing or stubborn pigmentation, and it does come with some downtime. So, if you’re looking for results without the recovery, this facial is your sweet spot.
How much does it cost?
At $210* for non-members, or $162.25* for members, the Laser Facial sits in that ideal space between accessible and high-end. And if you’re already on a Reformaskin or other membership plan, you’re probably already halfway there.
They also offer package deals if you’re keen to commit to a course… and trust me, once you see the results of one, you will be.
So is the Signature Laser Facial worth the hype?
This treatment is a no-brainer if you’re serious about your skin but, like me, don’t have the time, patience (or inclination) for heavy-duty downtime. It’s quick, results-driven, and completely customisable depending on your skin’s needs. It will become your new go-to for when your skin needs a little bit of tough love, but you also don’t want to feel like you have to hide away in the shadows for days afterwards.
So the answer is 100%, unequivocally, undoubtedly, YES.
2. Update after second Laser Facial

Rightly or wrongly, my happiness is, in fact, directly correlated to how many Caci appointments I have coming up in a certain month. So, let me tell you, I've had a great last four weeks. Two weeks after my first Laser Facial, I was back at Caci for a Sonophoresis Skin Infusion. If you haven’t tried one, let me tell you: it’s the ultimate pick-me-up. Think of it as the IV drip of the skincare world, except instead of lying in a hospital bed, you’re tucked under a cosy blanket while your skin gets flooded with hydration and nutrients. My skin drank it up like it hadn’t had water in weeks.
It was actually the perfect treatment to have booked in, because, while recovery was an absolute breeze following my first Laser Facial, I did experience the expected dryness the week after. Nothing crazy, just needed to add an extra dose of Murad’s Intense Recovery Cream, which is a God-sent after a treatment like this, might I add! But the Sono gave my skin the full recovery it needed to get back on track, and boy oh boy, did it ever. My skin was glooooowing, like potentially never looked better. I could have stopped the whole process then and been happy as Larry, but did I stop there? Of course not. I am NOT passing up a chance to get back under those blankets.
So fast forward another two weeks, and I was back in the saddle (the bed) for round two. This time, I didn’t go as red as I did after the first one (progress!), more post-spin-class flush than tomato face. My lovely therapist, Immy, kept the settings at the same strength since my skin was responding so well, and honestly, it was the right call. Recovery was a breeze again, apart from a week of mild dryness, which just made me feel like my moisturiser was finally getting the attention it deserved again.
Once the dryness passed, the glow came back with a vengeance. Smooth, radiant, and dare I say, even better than after my first round. At this point, I’m counting down the days until treatment three like it’s Christmas. Stay tuned for the results because I have a feeling they are going to be well worth your valuable time.
What is my skin cycling routine when I can’t use actives?
Like a lot of the more ‘advanced’ treatments, you are not supposed to use actives for seven days post-treatment. For the active lovers (me), this can be a little bit of a shock, so, here are the non-active products I have on rotation while I am in my active probationary period.
Morning routine
Skinsmiths B12 Multi Cleanser
I already have a fair few products on my roster, so when the B12 range launched, while I was of course intrigued, I wasn’t convinced they would find a place on my very exclusive routine. But I was very wrong. The B12 Cleanser has become my go-to for those don’t need active days, or when I have been given instructions to be on bed rest from the actives. It’s the gentlest and perfect way to start the day. This cream-gel cleanser removes impurities without stripping, which is exactly what you want when your skin barrier is busy doing its post-laser repair work
Murad Revitalixir Recovery Serum
Now the Revitalixir Serum, on the other hand, has been a mainstay on my roster since day one. Part serum, part stress-relief treatment. This lightweight formula helps smooth fine lines while hydrating and soothing sensitivity. Perfect for when your skin is in that “I’m slightly fragile, please be kind” phase post-laser.
Skinsmiths B12 Ceramide Cream
When I say something is the ‘best’ at something, it’s a big deal. I have had the absolute pleasure and luxury of trialling almost all the products available to man over the past few years. But when I say that the B12 Ceramide Cream is the best under-makeup moisturiser out there, I mean it. It adds an almost shimmery glow; you have to try it to understand what I’m talking about, but it is here to stay for me.
Skinsmiths Daily Mineral Defence SPF40
The most important step of all. Your skin is more sensitive to UV post-laser, so skipping SPF isn’t an option. This mineral formula is gentle, non-irritating, and gives that invisible shield you need to protect all the collagen-boosting work you’ve just invested in.
Evening routine (night one)
Skinsmiths PRO Strength Niacinamide
Okay, this technically counts as an “active,” but it’s a gentle one that supports barrier function, evens tone, and helps calm redness. Post-laser skin loves niacinamide in moderation, it’s like the sensible best friend who always makes sure you get home safely.
Murad Cellular Hydration Barrier Repair Mask
An overnight mask that acts like a weighted blanket for your face. It deeply hydrates, strengthens the barrier, and reduces any tight or dry feeling that can crop up after laser. You wake up plump, dewy, and irritation-free.
Evening routine (night two)
Murad Cellular Hydration Barrier Repair Serum
A powerhouse serum designed to rebuild and fortify your barrier. It helps reduce sensitivity, calm redness, and replenish lost hydration. Basically, the ideal base camp while your skin heals and strengthens. This has become my go-to (alongside Revitalixir) to reach for when all my serums are temporarily rendered useless.
Murad Intense Recovery Cream
If my skin throws a full bitch fit and starts to flake post-treatment, I actually take this product along with me to work and apply it throughout the day. I also use it after skiing and have zero dryness or irritation, which, if you know, you know, is CRAZY work. Rich, soothing, and deeply replenishing. This cream is perfect if you’re feeling that post-laser dryness set in. It cocoons your skin in moisture and takes the edge off any irritation, so you can focus on the glow to come.
Murad Cellular Hydration Barrier Repair Oil Drops
The final flourish. A silky oil that seals in all the hydration from the steps before, leaving your skin looking glossy and supple.
And, repeat!
This little cycle of hydration, barrier support, and sun protection is the perfect way to keep your skin happy in its no-actives zone. Think of it less as a punishment, more as a spa retreat for your skin, it comes back refreshed, stronger, and ready for your next round of actives.
3. Update after third Laser Facial
If I thought my excitement levels were high after treatment two, then the only way to describe them after treatment three is stratospheric. By this point, my skin is well caught up on what to expect, and so the reactions are becoming less intense with each round (not that they were ever anything crazy). I am also feeling like I know what to expect with each round of treatment, so that the facial itself is becoming more enjoyable too.
Immy decided to keep me at the same strength again since the results have been consistently good, and I have to say, I would trust her with my life at this point. Seriously, Immy, if you are reading this, will you be my bridesmaid? I owe you my life at this point. Recovery-wise, this has definitely been the easiest. Minimal dryness, the tiniest bit of tightness around my cheeks for a few days, maybe, but absolutely nothing outside of the ordinary. I am still slathering on the same in-between products, and the Murad Intense Recovery Cream is still the MVP of this whole process.
I actually waited a week post-facial to write this update, because, as a famous writer once put it, “I don’t know what I think until I read what I write”, and given that the post-Laser Facial glow is in full force right now, I think I love this treatment. It looks like someone has buffed my face with some sort of soft-focus filter. People have genuinely started to notice, and strangers are stopping me on the street (okay, that last part was a lie), but people are starting to notice. Friends are asking me outright what the heck is going on with my skin, and given that at this point I could almost write a TED Talk on this, I tell them to buckle up while I give them the full rundown.
At this stage in my journey, the cumulative results are definitely starting to stack up. Pigmentation is a thing of the past; my skin tone is more even, and the biggest difference for me has been texture. My makeup is going on noticeably smoother in the morning, and I am loving seeing the results unfold in front of my eyes. I honestly cannot wait to see what is in store for me after my final treatment. The biggest lesson learned for me during this whole process is that you should never underestimate consistency. One facial is magic, of course, but four is a whole movement. Stay tuned for the final update.
4. The final verdict

I think by this point it's probably abundantly clear that I am obsessed with the Caci Signature Laser Facial. I have had eight facials in the past four months, and my skin has quite literally transformed into a new, improved, and slightly smug version of its former self. I am attaching photos two weeks post-final facial so you can fully appreciate just how incredible the results of this course of treatments truly are.
My skin has improved in every aspect, but if I had to summarise the main improvements, it would be tone and texture. I have way less redness (particularly around my nose) to the point that I don’t feel the need to layer on nearly as much concealer as I used to be slinging. And the texture is almost unrecognisably better, we’re talking foundation sitting flawlessly on my face. There is also no beastly underground activity either.
I stayed at the same strength throughout my course, but Immy suggested that I should give my skin a breather (six months or so) and then undergo another round on the higher setting. So I’ll be doing exactly that.
I don’t really know what more I can say, so I will summarise all of the above into bullet points:
-
I love the Caci Laser Facial.
 -
No, it is not painful (although pain is subjective).
 -
It’s worth every cent.
 -
I have become slightly smug as a result.
