What to book in January for glowing skin

Why January appointments are important

Why January, you ask? Well, like all things in life, good things take time. So, if you want to be absolutely slaying the game skin-wise, you need to start putting in the work in the early new year. January can be a bit of a confusing month for some of us; it’s kind of the no-man's land between being on holidays and also having an incredibly full inbox and drowning in the responsibilities of being a functioning adult again. Amid all this chaos, it’s incredibly easy to neglect our self-care, including our skin treatments. This is why it always pays to have your January automated in December, so get all those appointments booked now.

You know the saying ‘summer bodies are made in winter’, well, it’s the same concept, just applied to our skin.

Book a consultation

If you haven't already, it’s absolutely imperative that you see one of our knowledgeable staff for a consultation so we can create a game plan for you and your skin. This is where you will be able to access your skin, concerns and any goals and then decide what the best course of action is. Whether you are ready to dive headfirst into a Reformaskin plan or just want to dip your toes in with a few treatments, there will be a course of treatments that works for you, your skin, and your budget.

At Caci, we are firm believers in having a plan, rather than just having random facials here and there. With a course of treatments, every appointment, serum and moisturiser become instruments in an orchestra, and all make up part of a bigger autumn glow agenda. Future you is doing yourself a huge favour by getting it all sorted early also, so come 2026, you can just roll up to your appointments and watch your post-holiday skin go from woe to wow.

Your January focus: reset and rehydrate

After a big summer, your skin’s first priority needs to be hitting the reset button. The aim in January is to bring calm hydration, while also gently but effectively clearing away any build up from sunscreen, sweat or long-wear makeup. It’s kind of like an early year reflection, where you can stocktake and reset the face for the year.

Treatments to book

A deep yet gentle clear out is exactly what the dermatologist ordered this time of year. Anything exfoliating, like a Hydradermabrasion or a Microdermabrasion are excellent options. Both will help to buff away that dull surface layer, unclog pores and smooth out rough texture while also making everything you put on the top layer of your skin work better. Hydradermabrasion adds an extra bit of hydration at the same time (ideal if your skin is feeling a bit sun parched).

If you want a little extra, pair these with a bit of LED Light Therapy, and you essentially have a full reset for the skin. LED is perfect for the post-holiday madness as it works to calm redness, support healing, reduce breakouts and boost collagen. It’s also extremely relaxing, so a great exercise for the mind as well as the skin.

If January is the month where you finally admit that your ‘occasional breakout’ situation has started to become something a little bit more than that, this is the time to talk to your clinician about booking in a course of Blemish Control Facials to get you back on track. Getting on top of congestion early in the year will mean you don’t need to implement any panic bookings for emergency pimple solutions in April.

Your January at-home routine

Of course, having a strong in-clinic plan is the best plan for skin-success but that doesn’t mean you can neglect your at-home regime. January doesn’t call for an entire overhaul of your bathroom shelf either. It’s just a matter of making a few strategic switch ups to support the work you are doing with the professionals.

First, a gentle but effective cleanser is a must have. After a summer of sweat, SPF and sun, a proper cleanse each morning and night is an act of kindness to your pores. Aim for something that can remove makeup and sunscreen, but without leaving your skin feel squeaky or tight (which is actually a hard balance). If your face feels like it's shrunk in the dryer after you wash it, your cleanser is too harsh. Something like the Skinsmiths Gentle Cream Cleanser or the Murad Clarifying Cream Cleanser are the perfect products for the job.

Next up, a hydrating serum. Ingredients like hyaluronic acid and glycerin are ones to look out for because they work by drawing water into the skin, which is essential after your skin's barrier has probably taken a hit. Layer this underneath your moisturiser to keep your skin plump and comfortable while you work on more pressing post-summer skin concerns. Any and all of the Murad and Skinsmiths serums and moisturisers are fab, but if we had to pick our top three for this time of the year it would be Murad Revitalixir Serum, Skinsmiths Ultimate Renewal Serum and the Murad Heartleaf Gentle Resurfacing Serum. But seriously, picking our favourite serum is like having to name our favourite child, and if you have any in your possession they will work great.

Even though the intense social period of summer is over, those UV rays are still hanging around. Which means, yes, SPF. Daily. Even in March when the weather starts to take a turn and ESPECIALLY if you have any light based treatments like Photo Rejuvenation or laser facials coming up.

What to book in late January and February

Once you’ve completed your initial reset, it’s time to start bringing in the big guns. And by big guns we mean the treatments that are really going to move the dial on the ‘bigger’ skin problems like texture, pigment and early signs of ageing.

Microneedling

If your main concerns are dullness, fine lines, scarring or enlarged pores, then microneedling is a very smart addition. The treatment uses tiny controlled micro channels in the skin to jump start your collagen production, which in turn improves texture, firmness and overall glow. It sounds kind of intense, but actually the downtime is minimal compared to the more aggressive resurfacing procedures, and the payoff after just a few sessions is honestly sorcery.

Laser Facials

And speaking of treatments that feel like witchcraft, the laser facials are also huge heavy lifters for this time of the year. You can read all about my experience having a course of Laser Facials here, but long story short, I was gloooooowing by the end.

Consider a membership

If you know anyone with seriously exceptional skin, you might be thinking some form of ‘how the hell do they keep up with all of that?’. Well, they are probably signed up to some form of membership, meaning they don’t have to remember to constantly book in their skin treatments, because… they are already booked! The idea is actually very simple. Instead of sporadically booking treatments when you remember, you commit to a tailored schedule, spread the cost out with regular payments, and let the clinic team handle the timings.

This is especially powerful if you know you have a busy year ahead and want your skin to be the one area of your life that is not on fire. The Caci Reformaskin Skin Health Membership is your January secret weapon to glowing skin.

So while you may be delaying your new years resolutions, don’t let your skin health be something you neglect in 2026. Book the consultation, get a plan in place, and watch your skin transform.
