Redness IPL Treatment FAQ's
Is IPL Redness Treatment Suitable For Rosacea?
Rosacea is ongoing, but with the right plan, it can be well managed. IPL redness treatment helps reduce background redness, flushing and visible capillaries, leaving skin calmer, clearer and more balanced. With regular maintenance, results stay consistent.
Your Caci therapist will assess your your skin at a free consultation and advise the best approach for your skin.
How Quickly Will Broken Capillaries Fade With IPL Treatment?
Visible broken capillaries often respond relatively quickly — most clients notice fading within 1–6 weeks of their first IPL session as the lymphatic system clears the collapsed capillary debris. Background facial redness takes a little longer to reduce. Multiple IPL sessions give the best long-term results for broken capillaries and rosacea.
Will My Facial Redness Look Worse Immediately After IPL?
It is common to experience some redness and mild swelling for 24–48 hours after IPL redness treatment when capillaries are targeted.
Treated vessels may briefly look more pronounced before they begin to fade. This is a completely normal response that settles.

IPL redness treatment is $500 per session for non-members. Members on a Reformaskin membership will save on every treatment by signing up to a package of treatments, you'll enjoy each session for only $320.

Individual broken capillaries can show significant improvement in fewer sessions. Rosacea benefits from ongoing maintenance IPL treatments to keep redness well managed.

What Is The Post Treatment Advice After the IPL Pigmentation Treatment?
Your skin may be pink or even red post treatment. You may experience some flakiness. It may feel a little like mild sunburn or windburn. You can apply a cold compress if required.
It is possible for blistering to develop. If this happens do not burst the blister. You must contact your clinic for a review and further care instructions.
Over the next few days you may find dark patches appear on your skin that we refer to as the ‘milo’ effect. Do not pick or scratch these marks, as it may result in scarring. If they occur, they will last approximately 7 days.
- Apply SPF50+ sunscreen daily. This is critical for the first 7 days.
- Avoid rubbing the treatment area, exfoliating products or coarse facecloths until the skin has returned to its pre- treatment condition.
- Avoid active skin products, such as those containing AHA’s (glycolic, lactic and salicylic acids), high doses of Vitamin C or A (Stieva A), for 48 hrs post treatment.
- Avoid anti-inflammatory medication, such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, (unless they have been prescribed by your doctor) for 3 days post treatment.
- If you have sensitive skin, do not try any new products for 2-3 days post treatment.
- Avoid sun exposure, sunbeds or artificial tanning (including self tan) to the treatment area between treatments. This may prevent your next treatment, disrupt your treatment plan and may affect the outcome of your results.
- Avoid exercise or activities that may cause excessive sweating for 24-48hrs post treatment.
- If required we recommend using mineral makeup only.
