While lip enhancement is one of the most commonly known filler treatments—it can also be used to contour and plump the face in other areas. Cheeks, jawline and more... we're giving you the 101 on Dermal Filler including the areas you didn't know you could get it.
How does Dermal Filler actually work?
Dermal filler is an injectable gel made from hyaluronic acid – a naturally occurring substance in your body. Once injected, the filler plumps up the skin, smoothing away deep lines, folds and wrinkles in the face and adding volume to the cheeks and lips. You can expect to see instant results.
Where can I received Dermal Filler?
At Caci, we treat the following areas:
Cheeks
Administered above and around your cheeks, this can give you a more defined bone structure. It also works to help smooth wrinkles and plump sagging skin that are a result of loss elasticity (something that comes with getting older!)
Nasolabial Folds
The lines between the nose and outer corners of the mouth are plumped to add volume and lift the skin. This helps to smooth deep wrinkles and reduce heavy crease lines.
Jawline & Chin
Chin and jawline enhancement can work to reduce the appearance of fat pads, often a result of aging or genetics—a.k.a the double chin. It can help create a strong and projected bone structure which can help improve the appearance of a short chin, a recessive chin as well as define the jawline.
Marionette Lines
Those lines from the corners of the mouth to either side of your chin can often have deep wrinkles and lines. Administering filler to this area adds volume and helps to move the mouth corners forward, smoothing lines and creating a more upwards turned mouth corner.
Lips
Last but not least, lips. Add hydration and plumpness to your lips, increase asymmetry or help reduce a gummy smile. This is one of our most popular Filler treatments.
So, how does it differ to Botox®?
Dermal filler is an injectable gel that provides volume and contouring. Botox® is not a filler, it relaxes muscle activity and is used to treat moderate to severe lines caused by repeated facial expressions.
How long does Dermal Filler last for?
Results vary from person to person, but typically last between 12-24 months and are noticeable immediately after the treatment. We'll check in with you after treatment with a follow-up appointment to review the treatment and ensure you're still satisfied with the results.
Does it hurt?
The injection process is quick and the needles are small and fine, so the treatment hardly hurts at all. You'll likely feel a pinprick, but most customers describe the treatment as being a bit uncomfortable rather than painful. The dermal filler we use at Caci; Juvederm® also contains Lidocaine; a local anaesthetic that provides more comfort both during and after injection.
Will it look natural?
At Caci we are aiming to enhance your natural look. Each individual customer has a consultation to discuss their concerns, how the treatments will work and the results. Each treatment is personalised because we understand that you don’t want to look frozen or overdone and want to simply look and feel your best!
Who will treat me?
All cosmetic medicine treatments including Dermal Filler are only performed by qualified and highly trained Registered Nurses, so you can rest assured you're in safe hands.
How much does it cost?
Costs vary depending on the area being treated and how much Dermal Filler you need to achieve the look you want—this varies from person to person. We'll discuss this with you during your free consultation.
