Nurse, Leader, Business Owner: Jamie Stout’s Journey to Owning a Caci Clinic

Caci franchise owners come from a range of different backgrounds but they all have one thing in common – a desire to help others and a passion for business. We spoke to Caci Levin owner Jamie Stout about her career prior to Caci, what attracted her to own a Caci clinic and how she has achieved clinic success in her short time as a clinic owner.

You have achieved great success in the short time you’ve been open – what do you put your success down to in the short time you’ve been open?

My success as a Caci franchise owner really comes down to a few key factors: having an incredible support network, a genuine passion for what I do, and a deep belief in the Caci journey. From day one, I’ve been committed to putting our clients at the heart of everything we do, which I think has been instrumental in building trust and fostering confidence within our community. Additionally, I’m incredibly grateful to work alongside a team that shares the same values, drive, and dedication to help people feel more confident in their skin.

Of course, success also comes from the hard work we put in each day. We’re always looking for ways to exceed expectations, whether it’s through ongoing education, refining our services, or creating a welcoming environment where clients feel truly cared for. Caci’s focus on empowering people to feel confident and beautiful resonates deeply with me, and I’m proud to carry that mission forward every day.

Can you tell us about your career prior to opening Caci Levin?

I’ve been a nurse for 20 years, having completed my Bachelor of Nursing at 21, my career has spanned across several rewarding fields. I began in a rehabilitation unit for those aged 65 and over, where I quickly developed a passion for specialized care and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Rehabilitation, which led me to a charge Nurse position. Later, after having my own children, I became a Plunket Nurse—a role that was both incredibly rewarding and inspiring. This role required me to take on further postgraduate studies in Well Child Tamariki Ora to deepen my expertise in supporting children and families.

Before joining Caci, I served as a Clinical Leader for Plunket where I embraced the opportunity to lead and mentor other Nurses. Leadership has always been a driving force for me, and I thrive on empowering others to grow in their roles. Watching people around me succeed and develop gives me a great sense of fulfillment, and this focus on strong, compassionate leadership is something I bring with me to Caci every day.

What attracted you to Caci?

I’ve always had a strong interest in aesthetics, and I knew I wanted to enter this field without giving up my passion for leadership. Joining Caci felt like the perfect fit because it allowed me to combine my clinical nursing expertise with my desire to lead a team dedicated to excellence. I’ve always been committed to delivering gold-standard service, and with Caci’s support, I feel empowered to achieve that—both from a business perspective and in delivering the highest level of clinical care.

Caci stands for so much more than just aesthetics; it’s truly about helping people feel their best, inside and out. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that our work goes beyond vanity, building confidence and empowering clients in a way that positively impacts their lives.

Can you describe a typical ‘day in the life’ of a Caci clinic owner?

As both the nurse and owner, my days are bustling with a variety of tasks and challenges! I usually start early, checking the day ahead on my laptop, then meeting with my team to set the scene for the day. We kick things off with a team huddle, where we go over our clients’ needs and journeys, making sure everyone is prepared to deliver the best possible experience. From there, I’m constantly switching between consulting, treating clients and leading the team, which keeps things dynamic and fast-paced.

We have a fantastic team, so the day is filled with laughter, energy, and a shared focus on our goals—there’s always something we’re working towards together. My hours can stretch from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., but the flexibility lets me structure my day to make the most of it. Sometimes, I’ll break up the routine with meetings or training sessions at the Caci Academy to keep growing both personally and professionally. Life at Caci is fast-paced, but I thrive on it—I live for that energy and the satisfaction of making a difference every day.

What advice would you give to others looking to own a Caci clinic?

My best advice for anyone considering owning a Caci clinic is to approach it with genuine passion and commitment. Be prepared to fully immerse yourself in every aspect—from building strong client relationships to leading a team with clear goals and shared values. Success doesn’t happen overnight, so resilience and a willingness to adapt are essential.

It’s also important to believe in the Caci ethos and the confidence we help bring to clients. Owning a clinic is not only a business venture but a chance to make a real impact on people’s lives. Lastly, lean into the support network that Caci provides. With the right support, you’ll have all the tools to offer gold-standard service, both clinically and as a business owner. Remember, it’s a rewarding journey, but it’s the dedication you bring to each day that truly makes it thrive.

You have been recognized for several business awards in your region, how do you balance working ‘in’ the clinic versus ‘on’ the clinic?

Balancing the roles of working ‘in’ the clinic versus ‘on’ the clinic has been key to our success. As a hands-on nurse, I’m directly involved in client treatments, which lets me stay connected to our clients’ needs and ensures we’re delivering the level of care Caci is known for. I work closely with my business performance manager who helps me set aside dedicated time to focus on the bigger picture—whether that’s strategic planning, team development, or setting new goals to drive our clinic forward.

It helps to have an amazing, goal-oriented team that I can rely on for day-to-day operations, allowing me the space to think more strategically. I’ve found that scheduling time specifically for each role—whether it’s leading a team meeting, analyzing performance metrics, or consulting with clients—makes all the difference. This balance is essential to maintain high standards, adapt to growth, and, ultimately, create a clinic environment that thrives.

What is your favorite Caci treatment?
Choosing just one favorite is tough, but when it comes to skin treatments, the new Caci Signature Peel stands out. This advanced peel combines chemical resurfacing with a soothing Sonophoresis Skin Infusion or LED Light Therapy, targeting deep biostimulation without the need for injections or needling. It's packed with natural protein growth factors for skin barrier repair, CoEnzyme Q10 to revitalize tired skin, and acids like Mandelic and Kojic to address aging, acne, and pigmentation. The result is a treatment that not only reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles but also hydrates, tightens, and lifts the skin, leaving it glowing and refreshed.
