In conversation with Caci and Eve Wellness

Carolyn Taylor discusses all things glow with Eve Wellness founder Beatrice Thorne-Laloli and Caci Research & Innovation Lead Katherine Kroon

If there is one thing I know to be true about Caci, it is that they don’t take a one-track approach when it comes to helping people feel great about themselves. And while this means a lot of different things to a lot of different people, I think we can all agree that when you’re glowing from the inside out, it helps you to look (and feel) your best. For some things in life, there are simply no shortcuts, which is why, on top of their revolutionary list of skincare treatments and products, Caci has also championed inside-out wellness through things like nutrition and supplements.

In keeping with this, Caci recently hosted an evening at their Training Academy where a bunch of beautiful women could get together over glow-ups, goat’s cheese and glow-inducing beverages to discuss why Caci and Eve Wellness are a match made in glow-up heaven.

Hosted by long-time Caci fan Carolyn Taylor, the evening brought together Eve Wellness founder Beatrice Thorne-Laloli and Caci Research & Innovation Lead Katherine Kroon for a conversation about something that (if the contents of our bathroom cabinets, supplement drawers, and increasingly elaborate morning beverages are anything to go by) we are all rather invested in: how to look and feel good as humanely possible for as long as humanely possible. And, as it turns out, there is a lot more to the pursuit of a healthy glow than finding a very flattering bathroom light.

The collagen conversation

Collagen has become one of those words that is now almost impossible to escape in the wellness world. It is in powders, drinks, skincare, treatments and supplements, and has somehow found its way into everything from our morning smoothies to our evening skincare routines. But behind all the buzz is something rather important: collagen is a stcutural protein that plays a significant role in the skin, helping give it strength, structure, and elasticity.

And, Katherine gave us all a little bit of tough love by telling us the less thrilling news to the whole collagen equation; that it doesn’t remain at its youthful peak forever. As we age, the processes responsible for maintaining all that lovely bounce and firmness begins to slow, which is one of the reasons our skin gradually changes in texture, elasticity, and appearance (despite out best efforts).

This was where the Caci and Eve Wellness partnership started to make a lot of sense. Rather than approaching collagen from exactly the same direction, the two brands come at the conversation from different sides: Eve Wellness from within, through targeted supplementation and wellness support, and Caci through professional treatments designed to support the skin and encourage its natural processes.

Supplementing your glow

If your social media algorithm has identified you as a woman with even a passing interest in wellness, chances are you have been served a collagen supplement before breakfast. The conversation with Beatrice explored the role supplements can play as part of a wider wellness routine and, importantly, the fact that formulation matters. Supplements aren't magic dust, nor are they designed to replace the basic things our bodies need, but they can offer targeted support when used thoughtfully and consistently.

It is an approach that feels very aligned with Caci's philosophy. We are increasingly savvy enough to know there probably isn't one serum, supplement, facial or green juice that will single-handedly transform us overnight. The far less sexy answer is usually consistency and a combination of things that support the body and skin in different ways.

Creating, and supporting, collagen from the outside

While Eve Wellness approached the glow from within, Katherine brought the conversation back to what Caci knows particularly well: what we can do to support the skin itself.

Professional skin treatments have moved well beyond the traditional idea of a facial as an hour of lovely-smelling products and a nice face massage. As enjoyable as those things undoubtedly are, modern treatments can be much more targeted, using different technologies and techniques to work with the skin's own processes and address concerns such as texture, firmness and the visible signs of ageing.

It is also why a good treatment plan isn't necessarily about booking the most intense treatment available and hoping to emerge 20 years younger by Thursday. Different skin needs different things, and treatments can be layered into a longer-term plan according to your skin, concerns and goals.

I particularly loved Katherine’s insight into the difference between collagen-inducing treatments like Microneedling and collagen-supporting treatments like LED Light Therapy. And this distinction really summed up one of my favourite takeaways from the evening: when it comes to collagen, we don’t necessarily need to choose one approach and throw everything we have at it. Some things can help stimulate the processes that create collagen, while others can help support the skin as it does so.

Glowing is a long term goal…

Beauty and wellness have always been particularly susceptible to the promise of a shortcut. But, unfortunately, the human body remains stubbornly resistant to marketing gimmicks.

What the Caci x Eve Wellness conversation highlighted instead was a much more realistic, and arguably much more useful, way of thinking about the glow we are all chasing. Supporting how we look and feel can happen in lots of different ways, and those things don't need to compete with one another A supplement can play one role. Professional treatments can play another. Skincare can support what we are doing at home, while good nutrition, hydration, sleep and all the other decidedly unglamorous fundamentals continue quietly doing their jobs in the background.
